Background
Owa kingdom is the largest in Ika North East, local government area of Delta state, it lies in the rain forest belt of Nigeria.
The kingdom is bounded in the west by Agbor, East by Umunede, Otolokpo and Ute-Okpu, South by Abavo and south east by Idumuesah.Owa has a satellite town Owa-Alidinma on Umutu-Umunede road.
It is also important to note that some owa communities are in Edo state, such as Iru-Egbede formerly known as Owa-Iru, Owanikeke and owa ri uzor idu.
Structure Of The Kingdom
Owa kingdom is made up of the following towns, which has many villages.-
- Owa -Oyibu Headquarters of Owa kingdom, which incidentally is also the headquarters of Ika North East local govt.
- Owa-Alero
- Owanta –Idumuetor
