Ogor Kingdom is one of the thirteen clans in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State, Nigeria. Ogor Kingdom is one of the ancient Kingdoms of Urhobo people. It has common boundaries with Evwreni, Iyede, Ughelli, Olomu, Eghwu and Agbarha clans. It is a relatively small clan with a projected population of about twelve thousand people. There are five main villages Otogor, the headquarters and the seat of the Ovie, Edjekota, the largest in population, Oviri-Ogor, Ovwodokpo kpo – Ogor and Ighwrovie founded by Ovie Ugbede (Ogbeide). Very many people from Ughelli have joined the original inhabitants of – Ighwrovie and now, claim joint ownership of the village with them.
Ogor is the first son of Oghwoghwa before now known as clan, reformed as kingdom. Each clan now kingdom is headed by an Ovie (a king) in the ancient system of governance and set by the creator before self-invented political system of government, trditional rulers are the citizen governors of their people. Every land had its own ruler born and raised from that land except for those unknown routes called slaves.
It is noteworthy that until the explosion of royal institutions began in the 1950s, from instigation from various Nigerian governments, only a handful of Urhobo’s sub-cultures exercised their inherent rights to have kings. Ogor and Ughelli had stable regimes of kingship for a good portion.
