
HIGH CHIEF OCHUKO JOHNBULL SAKPAIDE
High Chief Johnbull Sakpaide is a man who has distinguished himself in various works of life. He is a father, community leader, an astute politician, a philanthropist and a business magnate. He is the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, JB Oil Ltd. He is also the Otota (Spokesperson) and Treasurer of the Traditional Council of Chiefs, Agbarho Kingdom and has held several political offices in the past two decades in Delta State. His nomination as a recipient of the Niger Delta Peace Legend award is truly deserved for his immense contributions towards the promotion of peace in Agbarho kingdom and for his commitment to human capital development across the Delta Central Senatorial district.
EARLY LIFE, EDUCATION, AND CAREER
High Chief Johnbull Sakpaide hails from Agbarho community in Ughelli North local council area of Delta State. He had his basic and post basic education in his home community and later attended the Federal Polytechnic, Bida where he obtained his national diploma in Business Administration & Management and later the Pertoleum Training Institute for his higher national diploma in Petroleum Product Marketing.
High Chief Johnbull Sakpaide had working stints with several indigenous and multinational companies in the financial and energy sectors before he ventured in to business. These include National Bank and Pengassan Oil Ltd. Today, he is the Chief Executive Officer of JB Oil Ltd- an indigenous deep-water drilling, seismic and civil engineering firm. His firm serves as a major contractor to several multinationals including Shell Petroleum Development Company and Total Energy.
High Chief Johnbull Sakpaide has also served as a commissioner in the Delta State House of Assembly Service Commission. He was also a Special Adviser to Senator Ighoyota Amori (former senator representing Delta Central Senatorial district) and a Senior Special Assistant on Political Affairs to the immediate past Executive Governor of Delta State, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa.
CONTRIBUTIONS TO PEACE, AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
High Chief Johnbull Sakpaide is an illustrious son of Agbarho Kingdom and has been actively involved in its affairs for a long time. He has served in various capacities to advance the wellbeing of his people and has used his resources and influence to attract infrastructural development to the kingdom. He served as the secretary of the committee that was set up by the Delta State Government to reinstall the Osuvie of tAgbarho kingdom who was deposed and sent on exile in 2017. High Chief Johnbull Sakpaide was able to mediate with both individuals from both sides of the divide who were for and against the Osuvie’s reinstallation. His ability to negotiate and create a win-win situation for all parties was instrumental in achieving this feat. Today, peace has been restored to the kingdom and the first festival to pay homage to the Osuvie by the different clans and quarters in Agbarho kingdom was recently held with much fanfare.
High Chief Johnbull Sakpaide has also used his resources to provide sustainable human capital development for indigent citizens within and around his home community. He has provided job opportunities for many within his locality and continues to provide scholarship and empowerment opportunities for youths and the less privileged. He has also used in influence in the corridors of power in Delta State to attract infrastructural development to Agbarho kingdom. These include renovation of the Agbarho Model Primary School as well as electrification and road projects.
High Chief Johnbull Sakpaide is a devout Christian and has a deep passion for the work of God and the salvation of souls. He has several churches that he has registered and actively supports with his resources to propagate the gospel of peace. These include Rescue Church of God of All Nations and the Kingdom People Prayer Ministry.
High Chief Johnbull Sakpaide plans to continue serving his kingdom and his king by providing useful counsel that will promote peace and progress. He also plans to ensure that Osuvie’s palace is properly renovated and wears a new look in the coming year.
