HIGH CHIEF GODBLESS OMUWOYE
High Chief Godbless Omuwoye is a seasoned politician and is currently the Executive Assistant to the present Executive Governor of Delta State, His Excellency, Chief Sheriff Oborevwori. He is also a distinguished community leader and the Awotu of Kumbowei federated kingdom in both Delta and Bayelsa States. He is a philanthropist who has not relented in using his skills and resources in impacting the lives of his kinfolks, colleagues and the Ijaw nation in particular. His nomination as a Champion of Peace and Community Development is truly deserved because of his outstanding contributions towards the promotion of peace and human capital development in his kingdom and by extension the Niger Delta region.
CONTRIBUTIONS TO PEACE, AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
High Chief Godbless Omuwoye has always displayed excellent leadership capabilities from his formative years. His ability to influence decisions and get others to collaborate on common tasks has seen take the lead on numerous occasions at work, among peers and even his home community. He is usually seen as the go-to-person whenever there are issues to be resolved or whenever certain projects need to be executed. These attributes were part of the reasons why he has served in several capacities in successive governments in Delta State.
In his home community, High Chief Godbless Omuwoye is known as an advocate for peace and values in the community. He is a lover of his community and a well cherished son of the soil. He endeavours to make himself available for all vital matters of peace and development within the community. Whenever he visits, his home plays host to different groups who come to make merry as well as seek his counsel and assistance. He has also used this medium to be a part of several initiatives that promoted peaceful and harmonious relationships between members of the community. He is also well regarded as an advocate of non-violent approach towards conflict resolution.
High Chief Godbless Omuwoye is also involved in philanthropy. From time to time, particularly during the festive seasons, he provides relief materials to the less privileged in his community. He also has several youths that he has empowered with soft loans to start up business and acquire vocational skills.
High Chief Godbless Omuwoye sees his recognition as a Niger Delta Peace Legend as a call to service. He plans to impact the younger generation with his wealth of experience and serve as a mentor and sounding board to them.
